I’m on the phone with Paypal. I’m trying to cancel PayFlow Link for a client.
Actually I’m on the phone talking to a robot who doesn’t understand what I’m trying to accomplish.
I’ve said “Payflow Link”, “cancel Payflow Link”, “help with PayFlow Link” over and over. Each time I say the same thing, the robot voice seems to get more and more robot-y. Yes, I said robot-y.
I want to scream into the phone “LISTEN TO ME!” But then I realize… it’s a robot.
Arrrggggh.
So I finally got through to a representative, who had no idea what I was talking about either!
Hmmm. Now I’m being transferred to the correct department. While I’m waiting, I’m listening to a recording to beware of fraudulent emails from people who are trying to steal from me.
Yikes! It’s like a drug commercial that will make you happy, while eliminating your sex drive, giving you the runs, giving you dry mouth and possibly suicidal thoughts.
.. Ten minutes later, I’m talking with a gal who just called it “PayFor Link.”
“No,” I said, it’s PayFlow Link.” “Oh, she said, I’ll have to transfer you to the correct department.”
So, another robot voice and another transfer. And now, I just gave them my name for the 3rd time.
What the world needs now is people, people people… talking to each other!
My advice: use an expert like me to help you set up a merchant account and shopping cart. If you think it’s more expensive, I urge you to think again.
