I missed a week of blogging. So ultimately I failed the Ultimate Blog Challenge.
But you know what all the good teachers say, “one person’s failure is another person’s lesson.” (well, I just made that up actually — it’s pretty good!)
This morning at one of my MasterMind groups I was saying that I’ve gotten so good at “taking care of myself” (i.e. taking painting lessons, meditating, gardening, hanging out with inspirational friends, taking classes…) that it’s time to go to the “other side” and be more disciplined scheduling my income generating activities.
How’s THAT for a great way to say, it’s time to get me some more clients?!
I believe that to be happy and to make a good living it’s CRITICAL to do things you love every day.
It’s also become crystal clear that in order to be happy and make a good living, you have to take actions to generate that income.
Ahhhh.. (I breath deep often these days)… back to my lesson.
I missed blogging since last Wednesday because I stopped in order to get ready for a workshop I facilitated called “Social Marketing with a Purpose.” It took quite a while to create the presentation. Yes, that’s my official excuse.
However, I know if I had it scheduled in my calendar to blog, I would have accomplished it! (Exactly like I tell my clients)
I now intend to stick to a schedule for blogging and Social Marketing. Hmm, I’ll be Purposefully Marketing Online. Go figure.
I’ll give myself 30 minutes a day to blog. I’ll also spend 15 minutes a day on FaceBook intentionally connecting. Then throughout the day, I’ll watch the Tweets and FaceBook messages and respond accordingly. That’s seems like a reasonable plan.
And, in my calendar is my email marketing schedule. With iContact, there’s NO reason for me not to regularly connect with the folks who’ve graciously given me their email addresses (and downloaded my E-Book.)
That brings up a few other items on my to-do list.
- Update my E-Book
- Upload my Social Marketing Presentation (I’ll let you know when!)
- Schedule my FANTASTIC teleseminars for the rest of the year
- Finalize with guests for the teleseminars (Soul Purpose Coach, Law of Attraction Coach, Spiritual Marketing Guru, Resume and Bio Extraordinaire, Communications Expert and Coach, and more…)
Well, my time is up – off to get the OTHER to-do list conquered!
By the way, here’s a great post by Chris Brogan, the grand-daddy of Social Media Marketing…
